Campground Rates and Reservations

In the spring of 2014, utilities were installed at the Harpers Ferry Campground. Presently the RV sites have 50 or 30 amp electric hookups and water. Some sites cannot accommodate RV’s over 35 ft long or 10 or more feet in height. Please notify staff of height and length of camper at time of reservation to help ensure they will fit into a site. All of our sites are back in, not pull through; therefore you will have to back into or out of your site. We only allow tents at tent sites. Popup campers or car camping would require an RV site. There is a handicap accessible bathhouse with 3 showers as well as a portable restroom trailer with running water.

RV sites do not have additional parking. If guests have additonal vehicles, they can park in our main parking lot at the campground location.

For monthly and seasonal RV sites there is also a $750 deposit that must be paid at the time of lease. $650 of the deposit is for the site and $100 is a deposit for the electric. Lessee is responsible for paying the electric each month.


Seasonal RV Sites

Seasonal:

$2300 plus electric for the season (April 1st through October 31st)

There is a 3 night minimum stay for Memorial Weekend, 4th Of July Weekend, and Labor Day Weekend for our Cabins and sites..
There is a 2 night minimum stay for the cabins any other time.

*We do not rent out tent sites seasonally.

*All RV sites are back-in only, we do not have any pull-through sites

*We ask that all groups are respectful to other campers and site users by observing quiet hours and following campground rules. We reserve the right to refuse service to disruptive guests.

Deluxe sites are for those who want a little more room to spread out, our RV site can also be used as deluxe tent site!

Each individual 18 or older staying in a monthly or seasonal site will be charged $40 for a background check.

NO RVs more than 10 years old allowed in the campground for seasonal campers.

The campground is in a beautiful / unique location. Because of that it is a mixed use site. The last zipline in the Harpers Ferry Canopy Tour passes over some of the Cabin/ RV / Deluxe Tent sites. The boat launch is used by River Riders to drop off some of their guests. There are train tracks up the hill behind the campground and a tunnel nearby where you may hear horn honking at some of the sites, so if you're a light sleeper, it will help to bring ear plugs for the occasional trains at night.

Reservations

Reservations should be made in advance. Busy weekends typically book 2-4 weeks in advance. Only phone reservations are available presently. Please call (800)326-7238 or (304)535-2663 between 9 AM and 5 PM (extended hours in season). Reservations must be confirmed with full payment at the time of reservation.

Late Check In

In order to be respectful of quiet hours and other patrons, we ask that guests checking in to their sites after 10 pm wait to set up their camp until the following morning. Late arrivals may utilize the parking area for the night. Guests can find their camping packets containing site information and parking passes outside of the Caretaker's lodging.

Refunds & Cancellations

Tent and RV Sites:
Due to the cost of processing reservations, $15 per site is non-refundable. You may receive a refund for the balance of your payment upon notification made 3 days prior to your check in date. NO REFUNDS on cancellations or no shows less than 3 days notice.

Cabins:
Due to the cost of processing reservations, $50 per cabin is non-refundable. You may receive a refund for the balance of your payment upon notification made 7 days prior to your check in date. NO REFUNDS on cancellations or no shows less than 7 days notice.

Tax Exemption

Many organizations are exempt from sales tax. Outdoor recreation activities in West Virginia are taxable. If you organization is tax exempt, you can receive an exception from paying sales tax. Form WV/CST-280 must be properly completed and submitted to us ahead of time along with a valid Business Registration Certificate.

(Any applicable user fees still apply regardless of exemption status.)

Pet Policy

  • Pets are to be kept on a leash at all times.
  • You must clean up after your pet.
  • Barking is to be kept at a minimum.
  • No pet shall be left unattended at any time.

Due to insurance regulations, we are not permitted to allow dogs considered aggessive breeds which include, but are not limited to: Pit Bulls, Rottweilers, Dobermans, German Shepherds, American Staffordshire Terriers, Mastiffs, etc. are not permitted and any camper whose pet is bothering or intimidating any other camper may be asked to leave at any time. We apologize for the inconvenience.

We are not able to accommodate pets in our cabins. If guests renting cabins are found to have pets they may incur additional fees and/or be asked to leave the campground at that time.


RV/TENT

By booking this reservation you are acknowledging that you understand the features of our campground. Our regular tent sites are for 2 adults/1 tent and our RV/ Deluxe sites are for 4 adults/ 2 tents or an RV. There is running water and electricity at the RV/Deluxe sites but not at the tent sites. We have a dumping station but no sewer hook ups. There is a fire pit and picnic table at each site. There is a bath house with three showers, toilets and sinks. Also, there is an active railroad that runs adjacent to the campground and a one way tunnel nearby. The train runs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, although the frequency varies. You may hear honking from the tunnel. We also have a canopy tour located above the campground. Vehicle access to the trail sites is very limited. We will allow one vehicle to access the site between 6:30 and 8:30 pm on check-in day and 7:30-8:30 am on departure day. Otherwise it is a quarter of a mile walk to the site. No vehicles are allowed to stay on the site or access the site while any canopy tour is operating. Light sleepers should bring ear plugs. Pets are allowed at the campground but because of insurance regulations, we are not permitted to allow dogs considered aggressive breeds which include, but are not limited to: Pit Bulls, Rottweilers, Dobermans, German Shepherds, American Staffordshire Terriers, Mastiffs etc. Check in is at 3pm at our main office and check out at 11am. Late arrivals can pick up their camping packet containing site information and parking passes outside of the Caretaker's lodging at the campground.

If you are booking campsites for a larger group, you shall pass this information along to all of your group members.

RESERVATIONS MADE MORE THAN 3 DAYS IN ADVANCE FOR CAMPSITES:
Due to the cost of processing reservations, $15 per site is non refundable. You may receive a refund for the balance of your payment less $15 upon notifications made 3 days prior to your camping date. We will NOT REFUND cancellations or no shows with less than 3 days notice.

RESERVATIONS MADE LESS THAN 3 DAYS IN ADVANCE:
At this point you are committing yourself for __ sites. We have a 3 day cancellation period that you are already inside of today. Therefore there are NO REFUNDS on any cancellations or no shows beyond this point.


CABINS:

By booking this reservation you are acknowledging that you understand the features of our campground. No linens or paper products are provided for any of the cabins, so please bring your own bedding (sleeping bags, sheets, blankets, pillows, etc.) and towels, as well as toilet paper/paper towels. You may also bring hand soap, dish soap, personal toiletries, cooking/eating utensils, spices, and any kind of outdoor gear. Our 4 person cabins require one queen bed set and two single bed sets. Our 6 person cabins require one queen bed set, one full bed set, and two single bed sets. We also have linen package rentals available for your convenience. If there is evidence of any guests sleeping directly on a mattress without sheets, there will be an additional $50 cleaning fee incurred. There is a fire pit and picnic table at each cabin. Also, there is an active railroad that runs adjacent to the campground and a one way tunnel nearby. The train runs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, although the frequency varies. You may hear honking from the tunnel. We also have a canopy tour located above the campground. Light sleepers should bring ear plugs. There is a $250 authorization as a security deposit for the cabins and a lease agreement that needs to be filled prior to the rental date. NO PETS ALLOWED AT THE CABINS. Check in is at 3pm at our main office and check out at 11am. Late arrivals can pick up their camping packet containing site information and parking passes outside of the Caretaker's lodging at the campground.

If you are booking campsites for a larger group, you shall pass this information along to all of your group members.

RESERVATIONS MADE MORE THAN 7 DAYS IN ADVANCE FOR CABINS:
Due to the cost of processing reservations, $50 per cabin is non refundable. You may receive a refund for the balance of your payment less $50 upon notifications made 7 days prior to your camping date. We will NOT REFUND cancellations or no shows with less than 7 days notice.

RESERVATIONS MADE LESS THAN 7 DAYS IN ADVANCE FOR CABINS:
At this point you are committing yourself for __ cabin. We have a 7 day cancellation period that you are already inside of today. Therefore there are NO REFUNDS on any cancellations or no shows beyond this point.


HALF MILE HIKE IN GROUP SITE:

By booking this reservation you are acknowledging that you understand the features of our campground. There is no running water or electricity at our Hike In Group Site (Ostrich Camp). There is a communal fire pit and several picnic tables at the site. There is a port a pottie available on site and a bath house a half a mile away with three showers, toilets and sinks. We also have a canopy tour located above the trail leading up to this group site, so no vehicles are allowed to drive underneath it during Zip Line operating hours. Vehicle access to the site is very limited. We will allow one vehicle to access the site between 5:30 and 8:30 pm on check-in day and 7:30-9:30 am on departure day. Otherwise it is a half mile walk to the site. No vehicles are allowed to stay on the site or access the site while any canopy tour is operating. Pets are allowed at the campground but because of insurance regulations, we are not permitted to allow dogs considered aggressive breeds which include, but are not limited to: Pit Bulls, Rottweilers, Dobermans, German Shepherds, American Staffordshire Terriers, Mastiffs etc. The water running at this site is a natural spring and should not be considered drinkable. All driving to/from the site must be escorted by the caretaker. Late arrivals can pick up their camping packet containing site information and parking passes at the Caretaker's lodging at the campground.

If you are booking campsites for a larger group, you shall pass this information along to all of your group members.

GROUP RESERVATIONS MADE MORE THAN 30 DAYS IN ADVANCE FOR HIKE IN GROUP SITE:
Due to the cost of processing reservations, $50 is non refundable. You may receive a refund for the balance of your payment less $50 upon notifications made 30 days prior to your camping date. We will NOT REFUND cancellations or no shows with less than 30 days notice.

GROUP RESERVATIONS MADE LESS THAN 30 DAYS IN ADVANCE FOR HIKE IN GROUP SITE:
At this point you are committing yourself for Ostrich Camp. We have a 30 day cancellation period that you are already inside of today. Therefore there are NO REFUNDS on any cancellations or no shows beyond this point.
